Will TripAdvisor's new CPC feature bring you more bookings?

TripAdvisor is rolling out a new cost-per-click feature—separate from its Business Listings feature—where brand.com rates can now appear on TripAdvisor next to rates from intermediaries, similar to Google’s Hotel Finder.

Hotel technology services company Mirai is testing TripAdvisor’s variable CPC program and “conducted a test to check the return you can expect by participating in this program,” according to a blog on the company’s site.

Business Listing allows hoteliers to add a link to the hotel’s website and contact information, according to the blog, while the CPC program allows users to compare rates of many providers in real time.

Tripadvisor’s CPC program “will generate new bookings in most of the hotels’ websites, mainly for the best rated hotels, but it is not predictable when it comes to cost and can generally be expensive,” Mirai concludes.
